About the role

To manage such a large organization, we have of course rolled out an outstanding finance department over the years and more concretely in the structure of an RSSC. The heart of finance is located at DSV Road Holding NV, located in Puurs, from where we are in daily direct contact with our MDs and colleagues across Europe West.

The mission of a “Business Controlling Specialist” for the “RSSC in Europe West” is to analyze both the gains against the losses and the balance sheet, as well as reporting for the various entities within your responsibility. The Controller should support Management with clear and objective comments on various day-to-day business matters and, in addition, provide both Management and Operations (MDs of the various entities) with guidance and monitoring with regard to business performance. The Controller will closely monitor any risks that could arise from outstanding items in the balance sheet and will ensure that Management is alerted to any adverse risk. In short, you are a very important link within DSV. If desired, you will first start in Belgium (Puurs), where you will learn more about DSV and our way of working and, depending on your growth path, you can grow within 1 or 2 years to a

another European country within RSSC and then return to BE or be sent again to another location. Apart from that, there are also opportunities for profiles who want a long career within BE. Of course, these profiles will also occasionally go on a business trip, but not to the extent that this interferes with the desired work-life balance.

In our RSSC structure, you are responsible for the following tasks:

• Reviewing the SAP BP to head office, ensuring all deadlines are met, and providing detailed commentary on key events that occurred during the month
• Analyzing the results of the company and discussing them with the management of the region concerned
• Reviewing and improving processes related to estimating work in progress and gross profit
• Being the single point of contact for the Group for the relevant entities in your portfolio
• Analyze the results of the establishment and propose various initiatives to improve profitability
• Ensuring that the departmental structure in SAP is up-to-date at all times
• Follow up the evolution of the gross profit in terms of volumes/margins and a forecast
• make before the end of the month
• Drafting the P&L budget based on the SAP BPC tools
• Proactively monitor the balance sheet to ensure we are not at risk and follow up if necessary
• Participate in the local management meetings as a representative of the RSSC
• Ensuring compliance with the various financial processes locally, not only by the finance staff, but also by the operational staff
• Preparing information for audits and visits of Group Controlling
• Follow-up of Webcost / Operational KPIs (e.g. auto-posting)
• Support the control and follow-up of overhead costs
• Close contact with management in the region and provide additional support if necessary
• Ad-hoc tasks as needed

Are you the perfect fit?

• Qualified controller (Bachelor or Master) with at least 2 to 4 years of proven experience in the field of controlling with solid experience in finance, business results, planning and analysis
• Experience with audits is a plus
• Good knowledge of Excel is essential, SAP knowledge is an advantage
• Team player, excellent communication skills (to both a direct colleague and an MD from the region), a creative and problem-solving approach, the ability and willingness to work with tight deadlines, change management mindset (fast changing and growing company), ownership approach
• Must be able to speak fluent English. English is the Group's business language. Other languages are a plus.
